What are some of the questions I should ask when I am signing a contract with a new Internet Service Provider (ISP)? There are many you could ask, but we thought we would share some of the questions we get asked which could guide you to what you should be asking.

Take the time to make sure you understand the answers to your questions and that you are sure you are getting what you need.

What is Wireless Internet?

Wireless networking – which is often just known as Wi-Fi – is a way of getting broadband internet without wires. Wi-Fi allows you to connect several computers at once, anywhere in the house – or if you have a laptop, to even use your computer in the garden. You don’t need to install extra phone lines or cables.

What is ‘line of sight’?

Because all wireless technologies excel only with a true line of sight, we require that the radios are mounted above the tree line, to ensure proper connections. However, for some clients, this means going much higher than their roofline.

Some rural properties are surrounded by tall trees and may require a tripod and mast, or even a guy wired pop-up mast or free-standing tower. The free site survey conducted before setup will ensure there are no surprises in setup fees.

What is Bundu NetworX uptime?

Our uptime is 99.6%.

Is VoIP service guaranteed?

We offer a test phone to see what the quality is like, however, we cannot guarantee the call quality.

Questions for your ISP

Can I use call forwarding?

Yes, call forwarding can be set up.

Do I have to sign long term contracts?

A basic install is R3600 if you sign a debit order for a year. Otherwise, the once-off cost is R5000.

Can I top up my data?

Yes, either via your portal, or call into our office, or email us on accounts@bundunetworx.co.za.

How do I check my data usage?

Log into your portal and this information is visible on your homepage.

Can I change my package?

You can change your package by emailing accounts@bundunetworx.co.za. You can make a request for your package to be changed at any time. Changes will be implemented on the 1st of the month.
